India Post and UTI Mutual Fund have renewed and strengthened their partnership to expand investor outreach and mutual fund services across the country. An MoU extending the agreement was signed in Mumbai by Shri Adnan Ahmed, Chief General Manager, Parcel & CCS Directorate, Department of Posts, and Shri Vetri Subramaniam, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, UTI Asset Management Company Limited.
According to the Ministry of Communications, the expanded collaboration utilizes India Post’s nationwide network and last-mile connectivity to carry out Know Your Customer (KYC) verification directly at investors’ doorsteps, including remote regions. The initiative builds on a previous KYC remediation effort to address documentation gaps and aims to simplify regulatory compliance and support continuous access to mutual fund investments.
What it means
- India Post will use its postal network and last-mile reach to conduct KYC verification at investors' doorsteps, covering remote and underserved areas.
