VoiceOfGP

Governance & Policy News

VoiceOfGP is an independent digital newsroom that reports what India’s government, regulators and armed forces officially announce: accurately, in plain English, and with the original document linked in every story.

Straight from the source.

Why we exist

Official decisions shape loan EMIs, savings rates, market rules, public schemes and national security. Yet the original documents are often long, technical and spread across dozens of websites, and second-hand coverage can blur what was actually said. VoiceOfGP closes that gap. We go to the primary source, report it faithfully and explain who it affects.

What we cover

  • Economy & RBI: monetary policy, interest rates, banking regulation and payment systems.
  • Markets & SEBI: circulars, regulations and changes to how India’s securities markets work.
  • Government: policy decisions, schemes and announcements from the Press Information Bureau and ministries.
  • Defence: announcements from the Ministry of Defence and the armed forces.
  • Explainers: in-depth guides to the rules, institutions and numbers behind the news.

How we work

  1. Official sources only. Every story starts from a primary document published by a government body, regulator or the armed forces: a press release, circular, notification, statement or report. Our principal sources are the Reserve Bank of India, the Securities and Exchange Board of India, the Press Information Bureau, government ministries and the armed forces. We do not rely on social media, anonymous sources or other publications for facts.
  2. Checked before publication. Every figure in a news summary is checked automatically against the original document. A story that fails any check is held for an editor instead of being published.
  3. Plain English. We explain what was decided, who it affects and from when. Where the source states practical effects, we set them out under “What it means”.
  4. Always linked. Every article names its source and links to the original, so readers can verify it themselves.

We use software, including AI tools, to monitor official sources and draft news summaries. Summaries that pass our automated checks are published automatically; our editors review published articles and correct errors promptly. Explainers are always reviewed by an editor before publication. Full details are in our Editorial Policy.

What “Verified against official sources” means

The badge on our site and the panel at the top of each article mean:

  • Official source: every article is based on a document published by a government body, regulator or the armed forces, and links to it.
  • Figures checked: before a news summary is published, every figure in it is automatically compared with the original document. If any figure cannot be matched, the article is held for an editor.
  • Document type: the panel shows whether the source is a statement or speech, an announcement, an official decision or a binding rule, so you can judge its weight.
  • Timing: where available, the panel shows when the official document was released and when we published it.

Verification means our reporting matches what the official source says. It does not mean we have independently confirmed the claims made in that source, and it is not an endorsement of them.

Our standards

  • Accuracy: we report only what the source states, and say so when a release is unclear.
  • Neutrality: no opinion, no political commentary, no spin.
  • Independence: VoiceOfGP is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Government of India, the RBI, SEBI or any other public body.
  • Accountability: errors are corrected promptly and transparently. See our Corrections policy.

What we are not

VoiceOfGP is an information service. We do not give investment, legal or tax advice, and we are not registered with SEBI as an investment adviser or research analyst. Reporting what an official source says is not an endorsement of it. See our Disclaimer.
