Vice-President Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan inaugurated the Deepotsav 2026 celebrations at Ram Ki Paidi in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, according to the Press Information Bureau. During the event, he witnessed the illumination of ghats with millions of diyas, cultural presentations, and musical fireworks, and participated in the Saryu Aarti at Naya Ghat.
Highlighting the growth of the festival since 2017, the Vice-President noted that the tenth edition envisaged more than 30 lakh diyas at Ram Ki Paidi and over 70 lakh across Ayodhya. He stated that the celebration contributes to local livelihoods by creating opportunities for potters, rural women, artisans, performers, and transport providers. He also visited the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple and participated in special prayers at Ram Katha Park.
