The Ministry of Tribal Affairs announced that it will observe Janjatiya Gaurav Pakhwada across the country from November 1 to 15, 2026, culminating in Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas on November 15. According to the Ministry, the fortnight-long drive honours Dharti Aaba Bhagwan Birsa Munda on his birth anniversary and aims to accelerate flagship programmes and build awareness of entitlements among tribal communities.
The celebrations will feature over 300 projects across various states, with 228 ready for inauguration and 74 for foundation stone laying, including a Tribal Research Institute building in Itanagar and a freedom fighter museum in Mizoram. Additionally, two national digital initiatives will be launched: the Jan-HIT Portal for tribe-disaggregated health data and the National Digital Platform for forest rights claims.
