The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment is hosting the ongoing Shilp Samagam Mela 2026 at Farm Gate, Khanapara, Guwahati. According to the Ministry, the eight-day event commenced on October 21 and is scheduled to conclude on October 28, 2026, remaining open daily from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
A total of 75 artisans, including 31 women representing North-Eastern States and other parts of the country, are participating to showcase about 40 varieties of handloom and handicraft products. The Mela aims to provide direct market access, consumer interaction, and sustainable livelihood opportunities for artisans supported by the Ministry’s three National Corporations.
Additionally, the event features a dedicated Ministry Pavilion with LED displays to highlight welfare schemes, financial assistance programmes, and the BHARAT-TULIP initiative. Daily cultural programmes and performances showcasing regional traditions are also being organised and livestreamed for wider public outreach.
