The 7th Agrivoltaics World Conference 2026, organised by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, has concluded in New Delhi. The three-day event focused on combining agricultural land use with solar power generation to boost farmers’ income and advance clean energy adoption across India and the Global South.
Discussions led by organisations including the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, International Water Management Institute, and International Solar Alliance covered crop choices, shade-tolerant farming, micro-climate effects, and innovative financing. The event featured dedicated sessions with progressive farmers and rural entrepreneurs, along with awards for research papers and enterprise innovations.
At the closing ceremony, India formally handed over the hosting responsibility for the 8th Agrivoltaics World Conference in 2027 to France.
