The Department of Fisheries under the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, in partnership with the Madhya Pradesh government, is organising the Fisheries Investors and Exporters Conclave 2026 on 23 October in Bhopal. The conclave aims to shift inland fisheries toward an integrated value-chain model by strengthening processing, cold chain infrastructure, and export linkages.

During the event, officials will unveil the Madhya Pradesh Fisheries Investment and Export Guidelines, 2026 alongside standard operating procedures on export potential for inland states. Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh will also issue administrative approvals for developing reservoirs and Amrit Sarovars in the state and virtually inaugurate integrated cage culture units.

Official figures show India recorded total fish production of 197.75 lakh tonnes in 2024–25, with inland fisheries accounting for 151.60 lakh tonnes. Seafood exports stood at ₹73,890 crore in 2025–26.
