Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal addressed the India-Poland Business Forum, alongside Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, inviting Polish companies to look beyond selling products and instead manufacture and innovate in India. According to the Ministry, Mr. Sonowal highlighted the growing bilateral ties following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Poland in August 2024, which elevated relations to a strategic partnership.

The Minister proposed the launch of a startup bridge, an innovation corridor, and an AI-quantum dialogue to connect businesses, researchers, and innovators from both nations. He noted that bilateral trade has reached $6.36 billion, with Indian investments in Poland exceeding $3 billion. Highlighting sectors such as non-fossil energy, green hydrogen, mining, and advanced manufacturing, he called for developing reliable supply chains and leveraging opportunities under the proposed India-European Union free trade agreement.
