The Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, under the Ministry of Jal Shakti, organized a national-level Training of Trainers program in New Delhi under Jal Jeevan Mission 2.0. The initiative aims to strengthen community-led management and maintenance of rural drinking water supply systems across India.

The training centered on an eight-module capacity building package that includes a story-based handbook titled The Story of Panipur and a trainer manual. The overall capacity building framework is designed to reach nearly 54 lakh stakeholders, including Gram Panchayat representatives, Village Water and Sanitation Committees, and Sujalam Shakti Groups.

Official speakers emphasized that long-term sustainability depends on community ownership, integrating water planning with Gram Panchayat Development Plans, user fee collection for operational upkeep, and leveraging digital dashboards for transparent governance.
