Defence news – VoiceOfGP

The Indian Navy will host the fifth edition of its flagship Naval Innovation and Indigenisation Seminar, Swavlamban 2026, on 26–27 October at the Manekshaw Centre in New Delhi, according to the Ministry of Defence. The event is being organised in collaboration with the Defence Innovation Organisation (DIO) and the Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM) under the theme ‘Strength & Power through Innovation and Indigenisation’.

The seminar and an accompanying exhibition will focus on emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, quantum systems, autonomous platforms, hypersonic systems, counter-drone mechanisms, and maritime surveillance. The platform aims to bridge the Navy’s operational needs with solutions from Indian start-ups, MSMEs, academia, and venture capital investors.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will attend the plenary session as chief guest on 26 October, where he will felicitate industry partners. The event will also feature the release of the Swavlamban 5.0 document and the Compendium on Technology Imperatives, outlining the Navy’s technological priorities and operational requirements.
